If you’re looking for popular fencing trends for 2022, then you’ve come to the right place. At RKG Fencing, we live and breath fences, so here’s our take on what’s fast becoming the new age of fencing!
Horizontal timber fencing
Forget boring fences with vertical palings, instead think horizontal, even diagonal. Different lengths or widths can also be incorporated to create designs that are unique to your property. You can even incorporate plant boxes within your fencing, and this works surprisingly well with vertical palings. You’ll need some creativity, but it will be worth it!
Light up your fencing
Other popular fencing trends for 2022 include lighting specifically designed for your fences. After all, if you’ve gone to the effort of creating a beautiful fence, why hide it when it gets dark? Lighting can include spot lights in the ground that are pointing to interesting areas of your fence, fairy lights strung along the top or even lights incorporated into the actual design. The results are only limited by your imagination.
Colour your fencing
Lots of homeowners like the natural timber look, particularly as it ages to a lovely grey colour over the years. However, you can completely change the ambiance of your home and garden by painting your fence a different colour. If you have a quirky nature then bright bold colours might suit, but there’s nothing wrong with a crisp white fence. Pastel colours are actually trending right now, so how about a lovely soft yellow, light grey or baby blue fence?
Add your own unique twist
Another trend we have noticed recently is a combination of different designs. For example, we have seen alternating panels of timber and aluminium, timber posts and aluminium panels, and different designs of woven wire fencing used intermittently. Adding your own unique twist to your privacy fencing is also another option to add fun to your home’s fencing.
